Francisco Bolognesi, born in 1846, wasn’t just a general — he became a symbol of grit and loyalty for Peru. With Italian roots and a warrior's spirit, he stood tall during the War of the Pacific. When Bolivia stepped back, Bolognesi and his 1,600 men were left to defend the port city of Arica against a Chilean army of 8,000.
When asked to surrender, his response became legendary:
“I have sacred duties, and I will fulfill them until the last cartridge is fired.”
And he did. Bolognesi and his troops fought to the very end — outnumbered, outgunned, but never backing down. His words didn’t just echo through history — they became the official motto of the Peruvian military.
We built this knife to honor that same spirit.
The Bolognesi Handmade Damascus Knife is tough, refined, and unapologetically bold. With a full-tang Damascus steel blade and a smooth rosewood handle, it’s crafted for those who value strength with elegance. It feels right in your hand — well-balanced, solid, and ready for whatever challenge lies ahead.
Every Bolognesi knife is made by hand. That means no two are exactly the same — and that’s the beauty of it. The Damascus pattern, wood grain, even the coloring might differ slightly from what you see in the photos. But rest assured, the quality is always top-tier. You won’t just own a knife — you’ll own a one-of-a-kind piece.
Just like the blade, the sheath is crafted by hand. So you might notice differences in stitching, leather tone, or design compared to what’s pictured. Don’t worry — it’s all part of the charm. Got questions or requests? Drop us a message — we’re happy to chat.
This isn’t stainless steel. It’s high-carbon 1095 Damascus — made to last, but it needs a little love.
Here’s how to keep it in great shape:
Do that, and your knife won’t just age well — it’ll get better with time.
